As the son of a builder, I had been around the industry my entire life.
At 21 years old, I decided to build my own home. Little did I know that decision would change the direction of my professional life and was a vital step in what would become my legacy to South Jersey.
I eventually sold that first home that I had built for myself and built another, even larger residence. Then I sold that one.
Again and again, over the years, I would build and sell my homes ... further refining my style and my skills.
As time went on, an interesting phenomenon began to occur. I never had to advertise my homes. People would approach me and ask to buy them. The homes kept getting bigger and more extravagant. More and more people became interested in my homes.
I've been a businessman since I was 21, but it's hard for me to sit in an office. I prefer to be out, working with my hands, creating something. Building Homes combined business and creativity, it seemed natural to start the business.
I draw my design inspiration from houses I encountered during a trip to Europe when I was younger. I fell in love with the European style - especially the older homes I saw in Amsterdam, Portugal, France and Italy. It's a very warm style. I use a lot of angles in ceilings, which are at least 10 ft and in some cases 20 feet high. It creates a great feeling of space. I also use a lot of marble in the foyers and bathrooms.
The European influence is also reflected in the name of my company, Luxuria. It's Italian for luxury.
As a designer, developer, and builder - I have the ability to see the entire picture. From the big picture to the smallest details, the designs are perfect on every scale. I build anywhere, but I especially like the Margate, Longport, Linwood and Ocean City, New Jersey areas and have been really enjoying building homes in the shore communities from Ventnor south through Ocean City.
I do all my own designs, but I go to an architect to draw up the plans.
I take great pride in my homes. It's my legacy. There's nothing better than driving past a beautiful home that I have created, and knowing that my clients love it.
I establish a partnership with my clients at the beginning of the home building process. I see myself as a reliable partner through every phase of the project.
To me, a great house is more than a fancy Master Suite, a gourmet kitchen and a two-story entrance foyer. A great house is something to be admired and savored, like a work of art or a bottle of fine wine. I look at a house as a thing of beauty - and my passion is to build beautiful homes.
The best feeling in the world is handing the keys to our client's new home and watching their family celebrate!
